A new school is opening in our area, should I be concerned??
My son is in the 3rd grade and goes to an academy school k-8th. This is his first year at the school and he has finally settled in and made friends, the first week was tough on him… they are now opening a new elementary school that should be open by next year a few blocks from my house. Will my son be forced to go to this new school? I’m devastated if this is the case as my son has already been in and out of 3 different schools through elementary due to us moving a lot. We finally just bought our home and settled down and now this happens. I told my son I would home school him before I’d have him go to his 4th school in 5 years, it’s just not healthy for a young kid to have to do that.

What are my options? Will by son be grandfathered in at his current school?

Not really. What happens is every male at the game that is of age puts their car keys into a big bowl and if one of these women draws your keys then you take her home to take one for the team.

When I grew up my old man was in the Marines. Every year or 2 it was new base, new state, new school. Massachusetts, California, Tennessee, Georgia, Missouri. You learned to love the change. Most of the kids whose parents were military accepted the life as well. Bitching about it wasn't going to change anything.

Your kid will be fine. He'll make new friends wherever he goes, it's almost impossible not to.
