Someone explain that 3 and 2 bomb?

Chiefs didnt need points in that scenario...they needed 2 yards and a first down. Not only that, an incompletion stops the clock.

Two plays to get 2 yards with a fresh Hunt and the game is over...but they went for a low percentage play for no reason. One they have repeatedly missed on for the past few months..

That is, by far, the worst play call of the past few years. It's not a mistake a championship team makes... mind-numbingly stupid from every angle.

I don't agree. I think we would have said it was too risky but it worked out.

Remember that jet sweep play to Worthy where he easily scored that we ran against the Ravens where 9 Chiefs were all on the right blocking against 5-6 Ravens? That play easily could have gotten 2 yards.

We supposedly have the best interior line in the NFL. We have a fullback on the roster. We also have 2 power backs and another solid RB in Perine. What's the point in having all of that if you're not using them in must have short yardage situations?

It would have been a 48 yard field goal and the ball wasn't carrying at all where they were when that last play was snapped.

Damn. That’s about as close as you get.

Kelce missed the block by a mile.

I loved the play call. You have to at least put on tape that you are willing to do that type of thing. It can't always be run up the middle or eventually you are gonna get your face ****ed on a key down, probably in the playoffs.

I'd call that again if they did it over. So close to having a play that would propel that Mahomes-Worthy connection into another stratosphere.

have zero issue with the playcall. Pats and Brady/Belichek did it all the time to seal the deal.

Problem is:

1) Worthy didnt track the ball worth a crap (hence not putting his arms out or diving for it)

2) It didnt lead to a 'go for it' on 4th down play (as typically you dont call that play on third down if you don't intend to go for it on the next play.

I dont hate the play call...I hate when they used it. No reason to attempt it with 2 tries to get 2 yards and go home...on a short week.

I also would have liked watching KC bulldoze their way to a win...using Hunt.

Yup. And now that I've seen the replay, if Kelce hadn't pulled a perfect Wanya Morris impersonation, Worthy likely walks that TD in. Would also explain why Kelce was apparently in a mood after the game and went straight to the locker room without shaking hands? I dunno.

Mahomes not hitting Worthy on these deep shots has been concerning but give the guy some ****ing pass protection occasionally and let's see if those two can get on the same page.
