Hollywood Brown had more control before hitting the ground than Schultz did before he went out of bounds. But I was ok with both of those calls. There are close calls all the time and you win some/lose some. Apparently there are a huge number of people that can't grasp that. They think "iTs rIgGeD fOr tAyLoR sWiFt!!" or something. Watching this and agree it is a joke. That first roughing the passer penalty:

*Show video of helmet to helmet hit on Mahomes*
Troy and Joe: "He just hits his chest."

Some variation of the above like 7 times. Showing an obvious helmet-to-helmet hit in slow motion in high def, while gas lighting us that it was a hit to the chest. Unbelievable.

I was surprised - it was so revealing of his bitter black vitriolic heart and hatred for the chiefs. It was like he couldn’t control himself and just blurted it out.

He told Mariucci that if they want to change the rules that's a different discussion but as the rules are written and with the emphasis on protecting QBs, those were BOTH correct calls and when shown from the officials angle and in slow motion, both are easily supported.
That is the real issue.

The rule book is unnecessarily convoluted and officials are explicitly instructed to throw the flag if they think the penalty occurred.

The league needs to streamline the process and do what the UFL does. Use a sky judge to overturn bogus penalties.

But guess what? The NFL has no incentive to change. The controversy sells and everyone keeps watching.

The problem is the weak QB rules these days. They see the concussions to Tua and Lawrence - and others that were able to come back into the game and it just cements those rules. The fact is when a defender makes contact to a QBs head they're throwing the flag. Which happened on both of the plays in the Chiefs/Texans game. I don't particularly like it but we've been on the other side of it before and will again.

Exactly. Some simple unwritten rules are being forgotten during this clickbait-fueled mania. Both of those catches would have withstood video review if they were called the other way originally. On those super close judgement calls, it’s hard to overturn.

You’re being dramatic, but that’s no surprise. Personal foul flags can be picked up on review (or expedited review aka ‘sky judge’). They weren’t picked up in the KC divisional because they were legit penalties.

The only controversy selling right now is the one that’s got you on the hook. MaHomES gEtS AlL the cALls!

This Chiefs Dynasty has turned fans, Coaches, opposing players, analysts and now game announcers into whiny little girls. It’s awesome, and I’m here for EVERY ****ing second of it

There were a couple of times during the game when this happened, or maybe three. I know Aikman was one, and I couldn't tell if it was him or Buck the other couple of times. Both of them were clearly rooting hard for the Texans, which is not their job.

Aikman is easy to figure out. He handed off to Emmitt Smith enough that he's convinced himself that he's an all-time great, and his ego can't handle the fact that he's not even in the same universe as the real all-time great. Mahomes has blown by him like a Lamborghini passing a bicycle.

I assume that Buck was biased because he moony-eyed copies everything Aikman says.
