USB 2.0 adapters for 802.11G wireless?
I've never used these, and wondering if they work pretty good. In the past, I've bought Xterasys PCMCIA adapters from NewEgg and had great luck with them, but the only PCMCIA adapter NewEgg carries anymore is the LinkSys and it's MORE EXPENSIVE THAN THE ROUTER.

I've never had look with USB network adapters of any kind, but thats just me.

I use a Xterasys USB wireless adaptor for my sons' computer. It works alright. The software isn't the greatest, but in the end, it does the job it's meant to do.

Their software is not designed for XP SP2. I had the same thing with their PCMCIA card.

Just don't install their software (install the driver only) and let Windows manage the wireless, and it's golden.

Yeah.

Basically just unzip all their software to a temp directory, but then instead of installing the software, go to Device Manager and reload your driver. When it prompts you, browse to that temp directory and voila...you've installed their driver without having to install their wireless control software.

By the way, if you use the NetGear USB device, let Windows run it. I couldn't get it to work with the included software. It works well other than that.

With XP SP2, you'll find that just about every device is that way. Proprietary wireless software = problems
