I had a dream last night about this weekend’s Chiefs game.

For some reason I was watching the game in a huge, crowded, movie theater. About 30 minutes prior to kickoff the Chiefs announced that they had signed Pete Stoyanovich, but Medlock was “still the man”, and they were only going to have Pete around in case they needed to kick any “really long” field goals. (I know. I should seek help.) Stoyanovich was also to be officially listed on the roster as a punter for some reason.

It was a close game. It came down to the Chiefs down by 1 with 00:00:47 on the clock. (Yes, that is 47 hundredths of a second left. Don’t ask me why.)

The Chiefs brought in Stoyanovich to attempt a 56 yard field goal. Just as they were lining up to kick, the screen went to a close-up still-shot of an orange flower, yet we could still hear the audio from the game. I screamed out “what the f##k?!” while the rest of the audience remained silent. I heard the announcer say, “wide left”, and then the screen of the game came back and they were rolling credits.

I managed to scream out “what the f##k?!” one last time in front of the otherwise silent audience before my alarm went off, ending the nightmare. (Or at least delaying it for a few more days.)

It'll never happen. Everyone knows in that situation and from that distance Herm would punt the ball.

I wish they would always switch to showing flowers when Chiefs kickers are on the field in the playoffs. It would make it hurt a little less.

Well it depends on what the score is. If we are somewhere around 18-20 Herm won't want to make the game feel like an arena game, so he will tell the kicker to miss the field goal on purpose.

Here's an interpretation of flowers in dreams:

Quote:
Flowers are beautiful and in our dreams they could represent the simplest feelings of contentment to the deepest feelings of spiritual completeness. A circular flower is a friendly sign which could be the "mandala" symbol or the symbol of wholeness that represents the "psychic center of the personality." Additionally, the colors could symbolize the psychic centers in our bodies called chakras. Flowers also represent hope and positive growth, along with simplicity, innocence, and possibly virginity.
I guess this means Chiefs fans are content with seeing kickers shank field goals. Deep down, we're all a bunch of masochists. Seeing kickers miss is the "psychic center of our personality." But, at the same time, maybe we're looking for "hope and positive growth," i.e. seeing a kicker make a ****ing kick. We're playoff win virgins.

Interesting. It makes sense. I have been thinking there isn't nearly enough outrage over our kicker situation lately. That probably explains why the only person in the theater who was screaming profanity was me.

Why do people think we care about your dreams?

I have a dream.
