Rush, Arthur, Beasley snag Big 12 honors

Kansas forwards Brandon Rush and Darrell Arthur were both named to the Big 12 preseason All-Big 12 team and Kansas State freshman Michael Beasley was named the conference's freshman of the year, the Big 12 announced on Tuesday.

Joining Rush and Arthur on the all-conference team were Baylor guard Curtis Jerrells, Nebraska foward Aleks Maric, Texas guard D.J. Augsustin and Texas A&M forward Joseph Jones.

Augustin was also named the preseason Big 12 player of the year.

DeMarre Carroll of Missouri, a transfer from Vanderbilt, was named preseason newcomer of the year.

Sadly, doesn't mean anything if we can't at least get to the Final Four.

Oh, I agree. I just think these things are fun to look at. Frankly, I'm not ready for my team's great football season to be over.
