Grade Each Area of the Team Today

Mine

QB:C-. Inaccurate, made poor decisions, but also plagued by drops. No huge INTs, but multiple mental errors and poor throws killed more than one drive
OL: C. Too much pressure in the passing game, but did well in the run game
RB: B-. Hit the holes well, but didn't do a good job of taking advantage of hitting the second level.
WR: C. Too many drops. Bowe was the only one who did anything today. Everyone else is an F
DL: C+ Decent job against the run, save for the evisceration by Portis
LB: D+. One pressure by Vrabel, and two sacks between he and Hali. DJ had one nice stop. Otherwise, nothing.
DB: B+. John McGraw gets an A-. Brown gets a D. Corners played really well
K: A+
P: C. Multiple poor kicks
KR/PR: B for Charles, F for Wade. Awful, awful game by Bobby Wade
Coaching: D+. Poor playcalling on 3rd down, and bizarre decisions on when to go for it vs. when to punt. Almost cost us.

QB: C- 3-4 bad passes but took care of ball which prevented a D
OL: D+ Couple of holes for LJ but 5 sacks keeps it from a C
RB: B LJ ran hard
WR: B- Bowe moved the chains but a couple slipped through his hands
DL: B+ Outside of the big play run defense was good.
LB: B Got pressure and Hali safety seals it
DB: B+ Outside of a couple of cooley plays over the middle good pass D
K: A+ The MVP
P: B Usual good job
KR/PR: C+ Morgan prevents disaster
Coaching:B Should have gone for TD on last drive to put game away.

I'm beginning to wonder if you guys watched the same game I sat through.

OL opened holes for Johnson on the left side and gave Cassel the most time he's had this season. He actually dropped back 7 steps and didn't have people in his face most of the time. A lot of the sacks were coverage sacks.

Johnson was the most consistent he's been in a bit. Charles is the one who showed very little in his few chances.

DL and LB kept pressure on Campbell/Odd Todd and Hali had several pressures, sacks and the safety. The LB's were hardly invisible.

No, this team is not perfect, but this was a better and more consistent effort than I've seen this season.

The problem with the o-line still remains consistency. Having time to throw the ball isn't a luxury if the QB is continuously scared that 3 seconds into the snap, there's going to be rushers in his face. Even when there isn't pressure, the QB's always thinking about it.

Because to me, Haynesworth was owning the Chiefs' offensive line all game. And nothing is worse for a QB than a DT who is always getting up in his face, even if the protection isn't perfect. The protection was better, but that's like bragging about smelling mostly like shit instead of completely like shit.

Before looking at others' grades, and without looking at stats, I would go with....

QB: B. Got penalized by some dropped passes, generally mistake free other than taking some sacks. No big plays, though.
OL: D+. We got some running movement, and I don't criticize them for getting owned by Haynesworth. We still took a lot of hits in the backfield.
RB: B-. LJ ran strong today. I didn't see him pass blocking very well, though.
WR: D. Dropped some easy passes today.
DL: B+. Generally seemed to hold the line and get some push. However, apparently three of the Redskins' linemen were backups or out of position. Knocked down some passes. Dorsey had a good game even if it doesn't show up in the stats.
LB: C-. Got a couple of sacks, but still not getting the pressure they should. I would've rated them lower if we'd given up more points. Demorrio had several plays today.
DB: A. I saw one bad angle by Brown, but for the most part this was a group of Musketeers today. McGraw made plays, Carr and Flowers covered well, and Leggett made the good special teams play (though Copper really made it).
K: A++++++. Succop is a bronzed god residing on the top of Mt. Olympus, throwing thunderbolts down at the mortal kickers.
P: A. I don't really know how Colquitt did, but I generally assume an A unless I see something otherwise.
KR/PR:
Coaching: B. Only two things I would overtly disagree with, and that's less than I had in a series with Herm. I'm growing to loathe those delayed draws for reasons I've mentioned many times. Also, I have to ask others: when we were up by three and had fourth down at their five with 40 seconds left, would you have kicked the field goal? I was surprised, because it gave Washington two chances for fluke plays: a blocked field goal and a kickoff return. I would've given LJ the ball on a wide run and either scored or had them pinned inside the five with 30 seconds left. Obviously, Haley's call worked out fine, but I wouldn't have kicked the field goal.

Yes because 90% chance it is successful and then it takes a TD to beat you. Even if they are pinned deep they only need one or two plays to try a long FG to tie the game.

Definitely the right call.

As long as Albert is struggling, he isn't that valuable.

Didn't Cassel get sacked 3 times from the left side?
