If the Chiefs take Berry, or Clausen, in this draft....
I'm curious.
I see so many posts that basically paint Pioli as a moron that would pass on both of these guys because they don't fit into the perception that Pioli values certain positions, or has to protect his investment in Cassel so he doesn't look like a dumbass for making that trade (that ship has sailed as far as I'm concerned, but that's another discussion). If the Chiefs do take Berry or Clausen, does this change your perception, and how much does it change it? |

If he takes Berry it changes it, but not Clausen.

Care to expand on that?
For me, if he takes Berry, then I still think he's a dumbass who isn't quite stupid enough to **** up this virtual no-brainer (though Saccoshit leads me to believe there is no such thing as a no-brainer). If he takes Clausen, even though I'm not entirely sold on his potential, it tells me that Pioli isn't afraid to admit he made a mistake and will work to correct it. Clausen would have a far more positive affect on my opinion of Pioli, even though I am far more sold on Berry's potential than on Clausen's.

uuummm yeah they do. remember when we drafted morgan? that was from watching the guy we drafted the year before. what about all the LSU guys in a row? from scouting the guy from the year before. and the draft is fluid. the pats ALWAYS have stockpiled picks to move around.

If he isn't planning on his team being shitty enough to be in a position to draft one of them, it doesn't matter. If you think you need a franchise QB and you get the chance to draft one, you do it. You may think that next year's draft is better, but you have no way of knowing if you'll get a chance at one of those guys when you are on the clock this year.

The fact is, there's no guarantee that he'd be in postion to draft a QB next year. He also has to look at the WR class next year and think about value over the two drafts.

Any way IMO If they are both avilable, I say you go after BOTH as hard as you can. Package up those two 2nds and, and whatever else, and try to move back in, and take Clausen. My God, I would shit myself. |

I agree whole-heartedly. Although getting THAT excited over drafting a safety at #5 doesn't extremely win me over.
I'll puke if he drafts Jimmy "I get punched by my own fans" Clausen. Posted via Mobile Device |

If he takes Clausen, I will worship the ground that he walks on. I am so desperate for a franchise QB that it is becoming pathetic.
If he takes Berry, I will be ecstatic that he didn't **** up the pick. If he takes Okung/Bulaga/Campbell, I will sigh and wonder what if he even knows what he is doing. |
