Mock Offseason

Re-sign:

Houston
Hudson
Parker
Mauga
Harris
Martin

Re-structure:

Hali
Bowe

Cut:

DeVito
Avery
Fasano
Jenkins
Mays

FA:

BJ Raji, NT/DE, Packers- one year deal. Gives him a year to prove himself and earn one good last contract and gives us a potential one year steal.

Virgil Green, TE, Broncos- we need a blocking TE. Would also be nice to see the Broncos lose both him and Thomas.

Cecil Shorts, WR, Jaguars- Dorsey loves taking chances on guys with an injury history and Shorts seems like the typical Dorsey signing. When healthy he's a starting quality wideout. Will push give Wilson and draft pick competition.

Draft:

1. La'el Collins, OT/OG, LSU- just plug him in at LG and profit. With the addition of Collins, return of Jeff Allen, and development of Fisher and Fulton I fully expect this line to be much better in 2015.

2. Rashad Greene, WR, FSU- this is what we need at WR. A guy with very good speed that runs great routes and gets separation. He can come in day one and start opposite of Bowe. Him and Shorts give us two guys that can consistently get open.

3. Cody Prewitt, S, Ole Miss- I think Prewitt makes it to the 3rd round and when he does the Chiefs won't hesitate to select the former Rebel. He can play deep or in the box.

3. Stephone Anthony, ILB, Clemson- ILB play was awful due to injuries and lack of depth this past season. Anothony gives us a guy at a good value that can come in and compete for a starting job day one.

4. Donovan Smith, T, Penn State- this guy had a great senior bowl week and gives us depth at OT since Collins will be starting at guard.

5. Karlos Williams, RB, FSU- I think we take a back at some point (this RB class is fantastic) and Williams seems like a prospect Dorsey will be drooling over with his height/weight/speed ratio.

5. Jordan Hicks, OLB/ILB, Texas- has the upside to be DJ's future replacement, but has battled injuries. Sound like a Dorsey prospect?

5. Kasen Williams, WR, Washington- a potential sleeper with great size that can come in and compete with Da'Rick for a roster spot.

6. Ray Drew, DE, Georgia- versatile lineman with experience in a 3/4.

7. Blake Sims, QB, Alabama- a guy Reid probably likes that can get a look in camp.

7. Tyler Varga, RB/FB, Yale

I don't expect Donovan Smith or Hicks to fall that far, but on the whole, this is a good offseason outcome for KC.

The FA acquisitions blow chunks, but the first four/five draft picks are very strong.

I really like the first two picks! Wouldn't be surprised at all if those are our picks round 1 & 2.

I was just trying to keep the FA acquisitions as realistic as possible. I don't think anybody is going to be pleased with our free agency activity, but keeping our guys and hitting on a few of these draft picks is key.

The answer to the Chiefs WR woes: A WR that has less complete seasons than Alex Smith.

Have Anthony Fasano? Cut him to sign a blocking TE.

Greene would be the starter in this scenario.

Fasano is being cut bc he's starting to become a brokedick. Green is in his prime. So yea we're upgrading our blocking TE. Is that hard to comprehend?

This is one of the best mocks I've seen by a fan of the message boards I go on.

La'el Collins might be the best OT in the draft and if he can make the switch to OG, great. If I was drafting a LG in the first, though, I'd take Matias, who is IMO an elite LG prospect.

Green is a perfect WR for the WCO, he runs the best routes in the draft.

I love Anthony in the third, he is my third favorite ILB prospect behind Dawson and McKinney.

Donovan Smith is a pretty decent selection for RT and I think you have him in the right round.

I haven't seen much of Hicks so I can't comment on that one.

Personally, I think pretty much any QB picked in the draft besides Winston and Mariota this year is a waste (except maybe Anthony Boone) but I'm not going to knock a guy for a seventh rounder.

JMO, nice work.

Funny how you can believe that the Chiefs would be upgrading the TE position by getting a guy who literally has not eclipsed 100 yards receiving in his entire career.

But he's right. An excellent blocking TE opposite Kelce would assist the running game, give Smith more time in the pocket and could be an occasional outlet receiver.

Also, Green has 23 catches for 206 yards for his career. He's a backup player to Julius Thomas, so those numbers are to be expected.

We already have a blocking TE opposite Kelce that provides more, embarassingly, in the pass game with Alex Smith than Green does with Peyton Manning.
