Anyone eat there? Any suggestions on what to get and what to avoid? Are reservations hard to get? The wife wants to go, and I haven't been before. Just looking for a heads up on the place....

I love the Melting Pot...get reservations for sure. The meals are made for couples and there are such a wide variety of things so there is really nothing to stay away from.

Yeah i can definitly see how Houston resturants could ruin you.

I havent figured out why Melding Pot is so popular but most women I know seem to love it for some reason, which makes is a good date place. The smell of the place kind of sticks with you after you leave as well.

If I really like a girl I'm seeing I'll take her there. For one thing its a really great "get to know you" kinda place. Quiet, intimate and you can really take your time and enjoy your meal. It is a little $$$ but not really more so than any other good restaurant on the Plaza. If you've never been I would go b/c I imagine the wife will enjoy it.

Make sure you get the smores fondue for desert. NO woman can resist the POWER of the Smores Fondue. I mean dipping cheesecake, strawberries, or whatever else they give you into melted chocholate with gram crackers and marsh mellows is freakin awsome. Have her suck the chocholate off of your finger. That could be smooth.
