Basically the way I take it is, the people the national guys who say he's the real deal are going off of last year with New England and of course the WR's will speak high of him.
Media who've been up at camp say the passing game looks really bad so far. |

Why not watch the game Saturday and the rest of preseason and form your own opinion? Or you could watch the game and come here and let everybody tell you what your opinion should be. Works either way.

ANYONE who is ready to pass judgement already is a moron anyways. It's PRACTICE, mostly non-contact against his own players. Whether he looks good, bad or mediocre doesn't matter much...yet.

Cassel is probably not going to have a great year this year and it may have little to do with him...think Trent Green's first year.

The latter, this is why I wanted the Chiefs to have him play his first season under the one year offer before we gave him the big contract.. He is not throwing to moss or welker anymore.. And our WR's sure are not going to make him look better on their own unless they transform into Fitz..

Cassel could be the real deal, but I wouldn't expect him to look even good this year.

Funny you bring this up, because I was reading yesterday afternoon's training camp daily and thought the same thing. According to what I was reading, Cassel wasn't doing great, but he wasn't playing like shit either....just middle of the road. Of course, these daily updates might overemphasize certain plays or miss out on key characteristics that would help the reader lean towards what analysts are thinking.
Hell, I'm just excited Chiefs football, preseason or not, is back this Saturday so we can all start making our own conclusions. |
