Its annoying that we won't be able to use it as an auxiliary and charge it at the same time. Or that's what I'm assuming. My car right now doesn't have Bluetooth, but I should be upgrading this fall and that should solve that.

Meh. The adapter dingus is small, can just live on the end of my headphones, and is free with the phone. seems like a reasonable compromise for the thing to be waterproof.
We'll see long term though. We are talking about what's perhaps the single most universal electrical interface in the world. Even power plugs vary by region. |

This seems more anti-consumer than anything. Interfacing your headphones wirelessly gives the companies more control. So instead of analog to listen to whatever music you happen to have, DRM can dictate whether to send the signal to the earphones or not. I see no upside to this, and phones have been waterproofed before and could still have a headphone jack.

I doubt this is the death of the iPhone, but I won't buy another one until they put the headphone jack back in. Over 75% of my iPhone use is that headphone jack.

It's an annoying drawback and Samsung makes a water resistant phone with the jack. Stuff like not being able to charge and use headphones at the same time while also trying not to lose lose the adaptor. I use multiple pairs of headphones I keep in various places which is also not ideal with an adaptor.

I use a Bluetooth radio adapter in my cars that don't have it. Works brilliantly.
