Not a huge market for Billy. He's a good hitter but his speed detracts from his offensive value. He's basically a 3 WAR player at his peak and 2 WAR possibly when he's not. At $8m teams can find similar production for the price. We can't trade off any hitting at this point anyway and does anyone trust Dayton to make a good deal here? He once tried to trade him for Yuni.

Good point. Flex pricing should work in fans favor now.

For a team that is scoring 1.1 runs per game this year, trading Billy Butler doesn't seem wise.

Butler is not that damned valuable. His position (DH) severely damages his trade value, and with our lack of offense, he's more valuable to us than to any other team. The Royals should probably punt 2013 if they are out of it at the break, figure out 2B, and hope one of their corner infielders figures it out.

Yost needs to go. Either these young guys are ready to take the next step playing "In the Show" or they are not and need to be sent down. You can't develop at the Big League level and that is what Yost is "doing again" just like he did last year and did in Milwaukee and hopefully it will get him fired again before it is too late. It was supposed to be different this year by actually winning games but it is the same ol same ol.
