Again, tell me why ALLEN isn't starting?

Holliday hasn't done much, if anything. Dalton, Allen Hicks and Browning seem to be our best line atm. Siavii and Sims aren't bad either..as Sims is showing he can play (even after the injury)

So why isn't ALLEN starting as he has 4 sacks?

I'm very pleased with the depth the Chiefs have on the defensive line. Someone gets hurt, someone else fills in without much of a dropoff in talent.

They will always rotate linemen in Vermeils system so I am not sure it really matters who "starts" Allen will get some playing time. Specifically on passing downs or later in the game if the Chiefs pull ahead and force the opponents to pass a lot.

Holliday is very good at stopping the run, I saw him run from one side to the other and tackle Fred Taylor from the back at least twice against the Jags.

Because Dick is having a passionate affair with a guy named Vonnie? It does sound like a girls' name after all.

It doesn't really matter who is named the "starter." He's been rotating in on about 50% of the plays. I have no problem keeping him fresh. It will hopefully avoid the burnout that most rookies face when they hit the wall around week 12.

Q: Herm, back on December 25th you were asked if Trent Green was your starter going into next season and you said, ‘yeah, why wouldn’t he be?’ Have you changed your mind on that?

EDWARDS: No, I have not.”

Holliday has been playing better lately.

Allen is effective in his role right now and the defense is playing well.

I figured as much, although I am not doubting Holliday, in fact I have been one of his few supporters after the bootleg frenzy in game 1.

Thats why I posted the:

Thanks for the info though!

They are two very different style players IMO.

Holliday is more of a big run stuffing DE where as Allen is more of a speedy edge rusher.

The rotation seems to be working so I say we stick with it.

Like everyone else around here, I like Allen.

Stepping back objectively, is it possible that he's not strong enough against the run yet, and if he starts the opposing teams will game plan the first few series against him? Just guessing.

Well I believe he is around 25 pounds lighter than Holliday so it is possible that he could get pushed around on runs between the tackles.
