DVD Burning question?

ok, I just got a new computer with a DVD burner and the computer came with Sonic RecordNow on it and I tried to burn a DVD movie and it says that it can't be copied because of copyrights.

I know that people can burn DVDs, now is it the software? should I go with a different recording software or is it that particular DVD, it is new. It's Be Cool so maybe it is something new they are adding into DVDs.

Anybody out there familiar with this situation. I just spent $40 on 50 DVD-R's and I'd hate to have wasted my money on that. Thanks in advance!

I use DVD Shrink which is freeware. It will have to perform some compression of menu's and removal of Spanish subtitles to fit it onto a single layer DVD. I have a dual layer DVD burner but the media is still failry expensive. If you have a dual layer burner with dual layer media you can just copy the whole damn thing.

I have been burning tons of movies using DVD Shrink and the quality looks fine. If you download it and still need help send me a message. I found that maximum smoothness setting works best.

I've run into problems with DVD Shrink not being able to rip some dvds, if you do run into that, try DVD Decrypter, it will usually get the job done.

so I burned the DVD, only the movie not all of the extras. I saved it to my comp with DVD shrink and then I wrote it to a disc with Sonic as a data disc. It couldn't find the files under anything else. I pop it in the DVD player and it says it cannot play the DVD. Can anybody explain what file it needs to burned under or whatnot? I'd appreciate it

Don't use Sonic.

Use Nero 6.6. You also should not have written it as a data disc, you needed to make a video DVD.
