Huskers Rule

It appears that the Huskers are going to finish off perennial powerhouse Maine tonight. Just plan on more of the same. BTW, how about those Sooners? Big Twelve is wide open. Huskers need game time to come together. The flag was flying proud outside the homestead today. Looking forward to the 37 forever weekend. Hope to see some of you there.

Dem Dukes! BTW, was Purzycki the HC when you were there? He had coached at my high school previously.

(Seems you wanted to keep this particular nugget of info on the down low, but I couldn't help responding.)

Think that's before my time. Rip Scherer was Head Coach when I got there in '92, and then Alex Wood.

I don't know about you ch but I was not at all pleased with the offense. They came out flat and it showed. With the exception of Taylor who played well everyone else just stunk up the joint. They couldn't run the ball, receivers couldn't catch the ball and 5 turnovers is inexcusable. On the flip side I was REALLY pleased with the Blackshirts. I don't care who you're playing, if you total 12 QB sacks, you're getting the job done. The LB's especially played lights out. But the lack of effort and just total sloppy play by the offense just pissed me off.
I suppose I should be happy they won but they should have blown Maine off the field. Callahan can't be happy at all with their play. I realize that only 1 of our receivers that are 1st teamers played tonight ( Fluellen, Leflore, Herrion ect. were out with injuries) but how many balls hit receivers in the hands that were just flat out dropped?? Inexcusable.
I don't know what he's going to do with the offensive line but if they can't get better effort out of the big uglies then you better bring some of the new studs up to speed.
I know I'm bitching but I just wasn't happy with the way the offense played. Some heads better roll this week.
I was extremely happy with the Blackshirts though.

Oh well I guess I could be a Sooner fan tonight.

Listening to Callahan now. He's not pleased with the Oline and the miscues and total lack of effort on offense. Said the Oline didn't play physical and is not happy. He's really pleased with the defense and special teams. Sounds like there may be a shakeup with personel on offense this week or a lot of stadium steps run.

Cosidering that they should have been wiped out, Maine wasn't actually all that bad. In fact they'll probably do well this season in their conference. Their defense isn't bad but Nebraska should have been able to do what ever they wanted. But the Huskers offense just decided to punch the clock instead of showing up today.

After listening to Husker fans for the last few months, I expected more out of the QB. I find it hard to believe that the Second Coming went 15-36 for 192 yards and 2 Ints against a IAA team. Am I missing something?
