What three teams this year are the biggest surprise to you?

Poll coming. Think about it. Roll the options over in your mind. Use scratch paper if you need to. Eliminate any answers that are obviously wrong. If it looks like you're running short on time, just fill in the remaining poll questions, since there is no penalty for guessing.

I went with Chicago and the Giants as overachieving surprises, and the Jets as an underachieving surprise.

Denver, Chicago and the Giants.

I think Lovie Smith has been doing the right thing with the Bears but wow. The have built an incredible defense.

I thought the Giants would suck a while longer while the latest Manning grew up and I always think the Broncos are going to suck.

There are several that are not doing as I expected, but the most surprising to me are probably Jacksonville and the New York Giants (better than I expected), and the Patriots (a lot worse than I expected).

Bears, Giants, Jets. (Dis)Honorable mention to Philly.

I don't get the Chiefs as disappointment votes. 6-4 works for me. Win # 6 last year came, what, mid December?

I picked Chicago, Denver and Philadelphia.

The Bears officially became "for real" after clubbing Carolina. The game wasn't as close and the score indicated.

Sadly, Denver looks great. I guess the Rat must have fed some fresh souls to the devil.

And I watch with amusement Philly's slide into hell. Too bad we played them early in the season when they still had their shit together. They're the 2003 Raiders now.

Dishonorable mention to Green Bay. The wheels didn't just fall off - they exploded off.
