I hate to trade up. I like to stand pat or trade down and gain more picks. But, we did trade up for Tony G and that worked out well.

Not really a rumor, they just picked us as a last spot to trade down to, and still get Mangold. I had heard that the Pats liked him a lot, so if that's who they would target after moving down, they certainly wouldn't want to move below 21 with the Patriots interested in him as well.

We'd be sure to land Jimmy Williams or Michael Huff if that were to happen.

I wouldn't trade before the draft, but if they're on the clock and a guy like Bunkley is there, i'd deal.
That said, they wouldn't pass up Bunkley. |

KC would trade up for Lawson if this occurs

Lawson may go at #16 or #18, but I don't see the Chiefs trading up for a guy who, (1) doesn't really fit their system, (2) won't be the BPA (and I love Lawson), and, (3) has a solid to good chance of being there at #20. |

Keep in mind that there's really two "types" of trades for picks. One is truly for picks, and another is for a specific player.
Let's say you're in the #20 spot and see a player sliding down the board. Next up is pick #16, and you're really worried that the guys picking at #17 will grab him. You trade your 1st and whatever for the #16 pick and take the guy you like. That's NOT a trade of picks for picks. It's really picks for a PLAYER. Just like trading those picks for a veteran, you're trading picks for a certain, specific player that you want. A true trade of picks is what SF and Denver did a week or so ago. Where you don't know who you're going to take but you trade picks anyway. There are many reasons to do this, but most teams are shy about doing it because they want to see who is on the board before making any decisions about anything.

If Lawson is on the board at #20, KC passes (unless there is NO ONE else there). Book it. |

This sounds more like pure speculation by the writer than rumor.
