Head of Officiating Mike Pereira on Tynes' FG
I didn't see this mentioned anywhere, so I thought I'd post a link.
http://www.nfl.com/video On the NFL Network they ask the head ref about the controversial calls of the week, and this week the Tynes FG was the first one they showed. He basically babbled some BS about extending the goal posts and never said whether he thought it was a bad call or not. But at least people took note of it. The video should be one of the choices at that link, along with a few videos about Lamar (including a duel-interview with DV and CP). |

I said right away when they called that a miss that, "at least I had an excuse when the Chiefs lost..."
So yep, there it is...we lost because of that blown call! |

I thought the kick was good, but assumed I was wrong since the Chiefs didn't make a stink about it. What's the concensus?

I was watching with non-Chiefs fans who agreed. Regardless, from 32 yards out it shouldn't have been close...Tynes' fault either way for making it so close... |

how many did we lose by?
err...how badly did we get our asses kicked, so that an early game FG would not matter? ok then...doesn't matter

He was basically saying the ref saw it as going over the top of the post so he called it no good......We'd have to have the underneath the post camera angle to really know.

Usually, a good ref will actually line up under the pos to give himself that angle, this ref was behind the crossbar by about 3 yards and was walking forward, looking up and forward when he initially started making the "no good" signal. The other ref was just looking at him as it was his call on his side of the posts.
I believe he judged it based on the angle more than where it was. It was going from right hash to left in only 32 yards so the angle was pretty severe, and I guess that is reason enough for it to be no good. No way that should have even been close, and Jeremy Giambi should have slid. |

That field goal was good. No way was that field goal not good. It was good, I'm telling you. Good, good, good.

Looked good to me too..if Dunn hadn't dropped that wide-open pass we'd probably scored 7 and might have changed the whole game...
