I still can't believe a talent like George selvie is gonna fall

Man I hope the chiefs get him. The mans stats are down because of the tripple teaming he had to deal with give me a break.

Now on top of that the man is gonna have a huge chip on his shoulder and play angry as I've said the steal of the draft if you he falls later than second round.

He didn't get triple teamed, he had the 1 good year and now he's gonna end up being basically the lowest drafted defensive player between him and all the name guys he played with..

What's that tell you?

I think we should use our #5 to take Selvie.

He was double teamed a lot in 08/09, except when playing Rutgers - and then Davis locked him down. That said, if we can get him in the 5th as a pass-rushing olb to put in for vrabel on 3rd down, i would be happy.

How bout this buddy third round chris Johnson if you and your buddies in the mock are so much better than me how come you didn't know bout this guy. Uhm I did you are so setting yourself up Mecca and onthewarpath58 because when selvie becomes a star I'm back here to throw this in your face. He was tripple teamed a lot if you count two lineman occupying him And getting chipped by a rb on the way to the QB.

understand onthewarpath you and your buddies are scared of real competition in the mock it's ok I understand. If you did you'd let me back in to show how good I am at the draft. But after playing nice and asking you nicely you don't let me in last two years. So let's go a different route because I think you are scared.

If not prove me wrong

Not to be a prick, but this is a question right? Shouldn't there be a question mark at the end?

At this point, I am no longer even remotely sure that you are being serious. Are you just being satirical and mocking somebody on this board or what?

If you want to "beat" them in this argument, it could be as simple as you going to the web and finding footage or articles stating that this took place. That is all really, just trying to help you out.

Ok, so I got bored and google "george selvie triple teamed" and this is the very first result.

George Selvie Becomes USF's First Two-Time All-American

Quote:
TAMPA – Another milestone for the University of South Florida football program was set on Thursday morning, when for the second consecutive season George Selvie was named a First Team All-American by the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA).

Selvie is the first repeat All-American in USF history. It comes one season after being the first consensus All-American in program history and joining teammate and current Dallas Cowboy Mike Jenkins as the first, first team All-America honorees in program history. “What an honor,” said Selvie. “This one has special meaning because it is the coaches that vote on the award. To gain their recognition for a second consecutive season is more than I ever envisioned.”

The Pensacola native has overcome a nagging ankle injury and constant double and triple teams to collect 11 tackles for loss and five sacks this season.

Last season he was recognized as a first team All-American by AP, Sportsline.com, College Football News, ESPN, FWAA, SI.com, Walter Camp and Rivals.com. He was joined on the 2007 AFCA First Team by Jenkins.

“Nobody deserves it more than George," said head coach Jim Leavitt. "It’s a huge honor for not only George Selvie but for the University of South Florida Football program. I don’t know how many programs in the country have a two time All-American. He'‘s a class act.”

Selvie is in elite company as one of three repeat AFCA All-Americans this season. The others are Ohio State's James Laurinaitis and Texas Tech's Michael Crabtree. Cincinnati punter Kevin Huber is the only other BIG EAST representative.

Selvie is among a total of 128 players that have earned AFCA Coaches’ All-America Team honors two or more times since the first team was announced in 1945.

The junior defensive end has announced that he will submit paperwork to the NFL Advisory Committee, but will not make a decision on whether or not to enter the NFL Draft until after the bowl season.
Selvie has been the focal point of every opposing offense this season as well. Below are some of the details:

ON RUNNING PLAYS
• When Selvie has been left unblocked, he has been run away from 84 percent of the time
• When Selvie has been blocked by a single player, he has been run away from 83 percent of the time
• When Selvie has been double teamed, he has been run away from 80 percent of the time
What it means....
Teams aren’t running anything at him. Only 20 percent of the time are they running to his side of the ball, even when Selvie is double teamed. That has left a very small percentage of opportunities for him to rack up the six tackles for loss that do not include his five sacks.
ON PASSING PLAYS
• Selvie has been in on 192 pass plays in 2008.• Teams have run a quick pass/screen/shovel pass or Selvie has dropped into coverage on 37 percent of the plays
• Teams have single blocked him on 40 percent of pass plays, nearly equal to the percentage of quick pass/screen/shovel pass
• Selvie has made them pay for single coverage with 14 tackles, two sacks, three TFL and one fumble recovery
• Teams have double teamed him 51 percent of the time
• Teams have triple teamed him 7 percent of the time

• Teams have quadrupled teamed him on two total plays
• Selvie was double teamed 16 times against Rutgers & UConn, 15 times against Kansas, 14 times against UCF
• Selvie was tripled teamed eight times against Kansas and four times against UCF
The AFCA has selected an All-America team every year since 1945.

The five teams now chosen for each AFCA division evolved from a single 11-player squad in 1945. From 1945 until 1967, only one team was chosen. From 1967 through 1971, two teams, University Division and College Division, were selected. In 1972, the College Division was split into College I and College II. In 1979, the University Division was split into two teams — Division I-A and Division I-AA. In 1996 the College I and College II teams were renamed Division II and Division III respectively. The AFCA has selected an NAIA All-America Team since 2006.

From 1965-81, a 22-player (11 offensive, 11 defensive) team was chosen. In 1982, a punter and placekicker were added to the team. In 1997 a return specialist was added, giving us the current 25-player team.

The return specialist position has been replaced by an all-purpose player in 2006.

The AFCA’s Football Bowl Subdivision All-America Selection Committee is made up of three head coaches from each of the AFCA’s nine FBS districts, one of whom serves as a district chairman, along with another head coach who serves as the chairman of the selection committee.
The coaches in each district are responsible for ranking the top players in their respective districts, that information, along with ballots submitted by FBS head coaches, are used to select the AFCA FBS Coaches’ All-America Team.
That took me little time. Of course that is 2008 (actually the 2007 season).

This article supports both sides claims. While he was not triple teamed much (in 2007/8), he was avoided and double teamed a majority of the time.

Here is a more recent blurb, this one covering the 2008 season.

Quote:
08/07/2009 - 2009 PRESEASON WALTER CAMP PLAYER OF THE YEAR WATCH LIST: George Selvie, DE, Senior, South Florida, has been selected one of thirty "players to watch" for its prestigious Player of the Year award, the nation's fourth-oldest individual college football accolade. The watch list will be narrowed to 10 semi-finalists in early November. Selvie tallied 43 tackles, 13.5 tackles for loss and 5.5 sacks and set opponents back 72 yards on TFL and 38 yards on sacks in 2008. His TFL numbers came while facing a double team on 79 percent of running plays and sack total was achieved while squaring off against double team 53 percent of the time. - South Florida football

And cool kids??

Really?? Why because you created a mock that's so exclusive that only onthewarpaths buddies can post on it?? Whatever if that makes you guys cool then I say keep believing that. I'm not trying to start trouble just tired of reading posts by Mecca and onthewarpath stating they know all about the draft but don't seem to recognize the hidden gems.

But then there reaction back is shut up noob when anyone calls them out. I guess that's what makes them cool. I however think it makes them immature.

Just stating my two cents
