Would you take an OC who would develop our QB, but won't win games with play calling?

Knowing that we would end up as an average team (7-9, 8-8, 9-7) over the next three years.

But that the record came not from our play calling, but a strong defense, bad to average play calling and an increasingly more effective QB.

Assume the QB that is developing is Brodie Croyle.

Since I fully expect bad playcalling with an OC that's handcuffed by Herman ****ing Edwards losing philosophy, then yes I would.

i would think an increasingly more effective qb would result in more wins by overcoming bad play calling.

Cam Cameron made Rivers look better than je is with playcalling last year.

This year Rivers regressed, so in the end, Cameron was a great play caller who really didn't effectively develop his QB.

OK, but Jaz asked just the oposite of that.

Developing a QB, playcalling and winning, go hand in hand. WHat he asks doesnt make any sense to me.

A coach can be fantastic QB coach and a crappy OC because he can't manage the playcalling.

I don't know a whole bunch about how an NFL coaching staff is set up, but isn't it reasonable to expect the OC to be a decent playcaller, and the job of developing the QB to go to the QB coach?
