Part of it could be that you're used to waiting 30 seconds for each page load on gamedays, so when it loads more quickly you have more time to actually catch up on posts.

I'm assuming so. Our normal offseason post volume was around 1000-1500 per day, and there's nothing else exciting around that time.

Unfortunately, the old server software corrupted most of the historical thread starting data, so the only valid comparison is between days after we switched to the new server back in February. However, yesterday did set a new record for threads based only on that time period.

There's no real way to compare this to last years' game days, though.
