NFL Head Coach 09

Anyone else trying to rebuild our franchise in this game?

For those that don't know about the game, here's the EA website - http://www.easports.com/nflheadcoach09/home.jsp

If you have questions / problems / etc, here's the link to the forum the devs hang out in - http://www.operationsports.com/forums/nfl-head-coach/

The Chiefs are one of the hardest teams to lead in this game. We start off with very little talent, mostly poor coaches (with the exception of DL coach, thanks Krumrie!), and a mediocre GM (which is actually probably favorable to the real thing, IMO). And on top of that, the lowest rating given for a trainer (meaning more injuries, more fatigue, and longer recovery time for all of your players).

It's not for everyone - this is not Madden. I like this game better, but then I'm a "Franchise Mode" guy, preferring the strategy over the button-mashing, and is the reason I've given up on Madden.

I've had it a few days, and it's pretty challenging with the Chiefs (haven't tried any other team).

If others are trying to turn our team into a powerhouse, maybe we can swap strategies and how the rebuild is going, as I'd be interested to see different strategies.

Technically, I've already fired Herm. You have the option of using an existing coach, or creating a new one.

Herm is below-average (rated 41, I think) with a few skills (some defensive & some PR skills) so it might be easier to use him, but I want some offense and that's something that's challenging with the rest of the staff. So I created a new coach with some skills that should help on offense.

I'm stuck with Carl for my first year, but I definitely plan on getting a new GM my first chance.
