We are 1 more game closer to the end of Carl and Herm, so that's good.

Yes. Yes. We can use gravity and momentum to our favor, to bring them home again.

Great idea for a thread !!!

The entire organization is in desperate times. "Houstin" at this point just wants to bring back survivors, forget about reaching the moon (Playoffs).

Realy funny.

1. Y'know, they started the game off with kid gloves on Croyle. Once they opened up the offense, I thought Croyle was doing a pretty good job with the offense. In other words, it makes it easier to believe that our offensive struggles are largely due to incompetent QB play by Huard and Thigpen
2. There will be no weaseling around the question about who our QB is for 2009. The answer: nobody on this roster. I really like Croyle, but am absolutely certain (and I'm sure the team is too) that he's not a long-term answer because he can't take a hit
3. While I was disappointed that Taylor didn't play a full game, I was glad to see him taking some RT snaps. Hopefully they continue to increase his reps and see what the kid's got
4. We looked really good in the return game
5. I really like what we are seeing out of our young corners. Considering how their defensive line is providing absolutely no push, I was pretty impressed with how they fared
6. If it's true that there was a defensive consultant, that's AWESOME news, as it means that Gunther Cunningham is on the very hot seat

That's it. It was hard to reach deep down and find anything positive. The fact is, Thigpen and Huard suck and we learn nothing about our team as long as they play. Darling is completely worthless. Our d-line is horribly inconsistent, and Hali/McBride should be rotating snaps instead of lining up next to each other. Our LBs are running around like chickens with their heads caught up. And our defensive coordinator is completely incapable of motivating these players -- enough with the "offense isn't producing argument", Gun is a part of the problem regardless of how bad or good our offense plays. r

Worse, there are a few really glaring needs and it's depressing taht we can't fix them until next season. This team badly needs a new d-coordinator, a MLB, a QB, C, RG, RT, and a #2 WR. And those first 5 positions will completely destroy any opportunity to be competitive in 2008.

When you're giving up 300+ rushing yards, the corners don't get to do much covering.

That's the good news. The bad news is; If they really had a defensive comsultant today - then they need to find another one.

Dorsey's good... (Ignore all the bullshit about him being a bust.)

Brandon Albert... Flowers and Carr....

Turk and Tank are both improving, In my mind.

Savage seems like a good KR.

Charles will be a huge weapon, if we're ever good enough to get him the ball in space.

Bowe's still Bowe, we just don't have anyone competent to run an NFL offense.

It's tough to see, but there are some shining peanuts in this polished turd of a team.

You've got a defensive tackle who, once he hits his stride, will be able to make an impact as a disruptor.

You have a WR who is a Michael Irvin clone, but needs to work on the dropsies.

You have a LT who should be able to hold down the position for 10 more years.

You have a great change of pace/3rd down back with home run potential.

You have a rookie SS with pro bowl tools (Morgan).

You have two young corners who look very promising for this particular scheme.

That's it, though.

You need 3 DEs, another DT, 4 new linebackers, a free safety, three guards, a center, possibly a RT, two corners, two wide receivers, a power back, and of course...

3 quarterbacks, including one who can carry a franchise.
