Sounds like an overreaction to an 0-16 season.

Lions to get makeover, will unveil new logo, uniforms next week

ALLEN PARK, Mich. -- The Detroit Lions are looking to turn the page on the NFL's first 0-16 season, and the team is getting a new look in the process.
The team announced Monday that it would unveil a new team logo and uniforms at a news conference on April 20.

No other details about the new branding were revealed.
