There's no way Hackett should've been voted out in the last round. No way. He should be here right now.

I don't get why King Carl has made it this far. Yeah, the last decade has been abysmal, but he brought the Chiefs back from the dead. 75% of the members of this board probably wouldn't even be here if it wasn't for him turning this franchise around.

It's an odd process, but the act of producing these polls brings me forgiveness to a lot of these guys. Ell iott didn't want to miss those kicks, and in fact he wanted to make them more than anybody else. Peterson wanted to field a Super Bowl team. Greg Robinson thought he had a great plan on defense. Jozwiak and Ryan Sims and Blackledge all certainly aspired to be stars.

Few of these guys are really villains. They were by and large wanting the same things we want as fans. The only villainous acts I can see are:

Dan Williams holding out for a year.

As you noted, Tony Casilias screwing us over and not showing up.

Elmore Stephens kidnapping and murdering a guy, but that technically happened after he was gone (though I suspect he was distracted during his short career)

Probably some high draft picks who were too lazy to do what they needed to do to thrive, though I can't point at individual picks and say which ones were lazy and which ones simply didn't have what it takes but tried hard.

Probably some guys who left the Chiefs for rivals, though there are some mitigating factors. If Kevin Ross was being told he wasn't in the long term plans of the Chiefs, I don't begrudge him playing for the Falcons and Chargers. Well, I do a little bit, but I can see his point.

Carl undoubtedly let his ego get in the way sometimes. It's hard to doubt that. But his other moves resurrected the franchise.

Paul Hackett interviewing for other jobs while he was supposed to be preparing the Chiefs for a playoff game, and being on record of giving up on series because "the defense will get the ball back".

...and had he left before he returned the franchise back to hell he would have been revered.

Oh FFS, I can't believe the K is in the final four. No player should be. I'm sure he tried very hard. It's not his fault he sucked. It was on Carl and Marty!
