Do you eat the skin on baked potatoes?
Just wondering. If you have this on your plate, what do you eat?



I was raised to understand that one does not eat the skin. You eat the innards and leave the carcass on the plate. But if I go to a restaurant and get potato skins as an appetizer, I'll eat the whole thing.

I think I should eat the skin on a baked potato, but it's too deeply ingrained in my habits to only eat the inside. It's like suddenly being told that I can eat the bone in a t-bone steak, or the shell on an oyster.. It's an alien concept to me. What do you do?

I only eat the insides of a baked potato. Sometimes there are waffle fries that have potato skins on them I will eat those, and I used to eat those Keebler potato skin chips back in the day but they no longer have them.

I'll admit I never did growing up but in my more recent years I'll eat the **** out of a potato skin. I've actually grown to enjoy it. When prepared properly, it's super crispy and tasty (I like some garlic salt on mine).

I actually didn't know some people didn't eat it until I went out with a few people when I was in high school. To me, it can be the best part of the potato if done right.
