Who the hell is NDT?

And if Cooper was sitting there outside the top 10, then I would seriously be interested in trading up.

No idea who they are, just found it cruising around on draftbreakdown... haha

I agree on Cooper. It is my opinion that if he gets out of the top 8 where a 2nd round pick or a pair of 3rds will get you to him, then I think you have to do it.

I like the vid cutups that they put up, but their prospect rankings and mocks are just reeruned the majority of the time. At one time they had Fowler going #1 overall.

Carl Davis would be a Tyson Alualu-type of reach.

I.e. laughingstock of the first round-type of reach.

Christ, I seriously want Dorsey to take a receiver/corner/playmaker now more than ever to just **** with all these computer-ific preconceived notions of what the Chiefs are looking for in the first round.

Bailey gets $25 million and no one mentions his name when they draft a lineman in the 1st.

It's probably because they don't know what Devito has left in his legs and no one has any idea about Catapano at this point. But I'd say that a starting caliber/5-tech depth is somewhere like 5th on the list of things that we need.

I'd address DB, WR, OL, and ILB well before I worry about the DL.

Howard showed up constantly last year, too.

This would be a terrible pick

I think looking at a starting caliber 5-tech has to do with 4 things:

1. Nobody has a clue what Catapano can do in a game in the NFL and he was a late round pick.

2. Nobody knows what DeVito will be able to do coming off an Achilles and he has one year left on his contract, so I'd count on this being his final year.

3. While Howard looked solid, and might start this year, he is also in the final year of his contract. If he plays well enough to be the starter all season, can the Chiefs afford him next year? I'm thinking Allen Bailey got a 25 million deal, so why would Howard not if he's also a starter?

4. There is no real depth outside of this, or at least NFL proven depth.

The potential turnover and all the unknowns make me think KC will very much look the way of a 5-tech this draft but I just don't think it'll be in round 1. Armstead is a project and likely monumental reach in round 1, but I'm sure someone is drafting him there. There are many other value picks to be had in the middle of the draft that can be developed for a year.

I don't think anyone would be surprised if we took a DL in the first three rounds. I don't think I've seen Davis mocked in the 1st round, much less in the teens. Seems like guys like Malcolm Brown or Armstead offer more value given their upside.

DE is in a similar place as corner for us.....probably ok this year, but questions going into next season.
