2017-2018 NHL Offseason Thread

Not sure this is thread-worthy, but I'm bored and this should be a crazy off-season with the inclusion of the Golden Knights.

Busy couple of weeks ahead.

And Drouin traded to the Canadiens for Sergachev and conditional picks going both ways.

I wanted the Kings to make a play for Drouin.

Drouin gets a 6 year $33 M deal to play in his home province after being a brat in TB. A lot of people are saying the Canadiens won the deal. I'm not too sure about that.

Rangers are buying out Dan Girardi. 2000+ career blocked shots have to take a toll on a player.

I love the Drouin deal for MTL. Time will tell, but that kid's so good.

He's as talented a kid as you'll find.

But I still see a lot of Alexandre Daigle in the guy. He plays hard when he wants to play hard. And when he wants to play hard, he's damn good.

But he's all to willing to float when he just doesn't feel like playing.

Habs are all about winning now with Price in tow, but even with Drouin: their pop-gun offense is still the weight sinking their ship.

If they can resign Radulov (which is a longshot based on his contract demands), that would go a long way.

Forgot that was on this morning... some good names available, but haven't looked at pending UFAs and contracts. Apparently Vegas only has 72 hours to negotiate with free agents, so they might not waste their time with someone like Oshie if he has no interest in playing for them.

Apparently the Wild worked some magic....

Minnesota Wild: Erik Haula has signed with the Golden Knights, and prospect Alex Tuch is headed to Vegas as well. In exchange, Vegas will not take Mathew Dumba, Marco Scandella, or Eric Staal.

Pickard was picked by the Avalanche, apparently.

Saw that this morning. Pretty excited with out how this turned out for MN - would have hurt to lose Dumba, Scandella, or Staal for nothing. Tuch is a good prospect, but not one of their best. Wild are now freed up to move a d-man (probably Scandella) for a forward this offseason.

A few surprises, but also looks like they're doing a decent job of stockpiling draft picks.... and they grabbed James Neal.

Hmm, Fleury and a pick... seemed so obvious, almost like the Knights were bluffing to get a pick out of it.
