I think the rest of the defense should pay his contract out of their pocket.

I think we are all hesitant to pay him after Houston. But damn, he's one hell of a pass rusher. I'd rather have him over Houston and that is for sure. Dee Ford is about due too isn't he? I don't know what they should do honestly. Tyreek Hill is great and all but we need defense so bad and Mahomes will still be slinging touch downs to any half way decent receivers. We also need to improve the interior o-line to give Mahomes more time in the pocket. We can't pay them all, it's a tough situation.

He dominates the interior and then when the guy he’s up against is clearly overmatched, the refs allow him to get held.

Chris Jones 2 I would like to change to a 4 3 with a new dc that would unfortunately eliminate ford but I think would be better for us. Interior linemen are important in today’s nfl as Reid mentioned so I could see them change |

He's going to be very expensive but worth it. Sign him this off season to Fletcher Cox type money or wait until next off season for Aaron Donald type money.

He's young and he is dominant. Defense is ****ed, and would be worse (if that's possible) without him. That's a guy you pay to keep. Honestly, it's all about the DB's, LB's and the scheme. I refuse to believe that these guys who have been playing football most of their lives suddenly forgot how to tackle...something else is going on here. The DB's...well, they were the young bloods playing in a hostile environment against a team that was in a must win situation...talk about setting up your players for failure.
Whatever. I think Reid and Co felt like we could afford to lose this game so might as well see how these guys react under pressure. I guess. Honestly, we didn't look any worse than we have all season. We would have lost this game if Scandrick and Parker were in too. We're just bad on that side of the ball. Historically so. Because Chiefs...

The only issue for Jones is whether he is the guy you see this year, or is he the slacker from prior years?

I'd say he's shown growth over 3 seasons, he wasn't a slacker, he was getting better every season.

Gotta pay Jones. You would see just how valuable he is if we had a decent secondary.

With an average secondary Jones very well could have more sacks. But at the same time an average secondary helps the D get off the field more so maybe it's a wash.
