One thing not being talked about...

Is that it’s now abundantly clear that when the DB’s are not allowed to hold and play super physical, they quickly get routed.

They were an inch away from giving up 38 points to the Bucs tonight.

Spags relies on the refs letting the Chiefs hold WR’s and when that wasn’t allowed, game over (on defense anyways).

Tampa's DBs were allowed to hold. Pringle was interfered with in the end zone. Kelce is held on every play. The game has to be officiated evenly.

Just be thankful your team didn't go 0-5 in Super Bowls today and lose to Tom Brady for the 50th time.

That's true for every defense in the modern NFL. One of the key plays in the NFC title game was a Bucs DB pulling a Packers WR down to get an INT that led to the back breaking TD. You still have to be physical.

It's why you don't overpay CBs. Pass rush is where it's at. And Spags knows this better than anyone. He beat Brady in 07 with that... and they've tried to build depth at pass rush here too. It worked last year. Tonight the Bucs just mauled us up front though.

The refs allowed the Bucs DBs to do it, just not KCs, in a few critical situations. And as a whole, the refs in the playoffs, as in all the playoff games, allowed more contact in every game. And not just in this year's playoffs, but all of them for at least as long as I've been watching football, so call it 42 years.

But in the SB they suddenly called several ticky-tack DPIs right in a row.

I assumed the “one thing not being talked about” you were going to reference are the Bills, after the Chiefs easily dispatched them two weeks ago.
