Alcoholic Mountain Dew to be created by Boston Beer Company and PepsiCo

I will be one of the first to put on a pair of jean shorts and a wife beater
and proudly drink one in public.

The Boston Beer Company and PepsiCo announced plans to enter a business collaboration to produce HARD MTN DEW alcoholic beverage. (Photo provided by Boston Beer Company)The Boston Beer Company, Inc.

The Boston Beer Company and PepsiCo have teamed up to create an alcoholic Mountain Dew.

Hard Mountain Dew will be 5% ABV and its three flavors are expected to be on the shelves in early 2022.

“We know that adult drinkers’ tastes are evolving, and they are looking for new and exciting flavorful beverages. The combination of our experience in brewing and developing the best-tasting hard seltzers and hard teas, and MTN DEW, a one of kind multi-billion dollar brand, will deliver the excitement and refreshment that drinkers know and love,” said Dave Burwick, Boston Beer’s CEO, in a statement.

Images provided by the company show the drink will be available in two other flavors besides the original Mountain Dew flavor: Black Cherry and Watermelon. All three drinks claim to have “zero sugar.”

Boston Beer Company said the drinks will be “marketed to adults of legal age and merchandized consistently with other alcohol beverages.”

Boston Beer will develop and produce the new drink, called HARD MTN DEW, and PepsiCo “has set up a new entity to sell, deliver, and merchandise the product,” the statement said.

Coca-Cola also recently announced a partnership with Molson Coors Beverage and that it will be making Topco Chico Hard Seltzer, its first alcoholic beverage in decades in the U.S., CNBC reported.

It’s been over 40 years since I first poured vodka into a glass of Mountain Dew.

This really isn’t a new concept.

The only thing Dew is good for is as a chaser for Jim Beam. I don't know why but it seems to take that nasty taste away quicker/better than any other soda I've tried.

I just mixed vodka and G Fuel last weekend. It was surprisingly good.

Diet Mountain Dew + Tequila = whiskey tango margarita. Good stuff, mang! Goes well with wife-beater (or no shirt....it'll happen if you drink enough of 'em), trailer parks, and shitty old muscle cars on cinder blocks in the front yard

Heh. I almost never drink now, and can count on one hand the number of times I've been drunk in the past 25 years. No one who posts here has ever seen me hammered. Mainly it's because my wife has never had a license, so whenever we go out I'm always driving. It's not like I'm anti-alcohol or anything; I just mostly quit and have found that I don't miss it.

And I certainly don't miss puking up vodka and Mountain Dew.
