Man the more I hear this guy speak the more I'm enamored by him. Could he be the sleeping favorite as our next head coach? The players seem to play their asses off for him. I say it's an outside chance, has this been discussed on CP much? I don't recall seeing the idea exchanged in posts.

I'd like to see our special teams' rankings as far as penalties on kickoff/punt returns. It sure seems as though we get called for a holding/block in the back penalty pretty ****ing often. And that's been an issue for a number of years now.

Yeah WTF knows - the idea is probably insane, I just see potential.

I'd like to hear what everyone thinks of his performance 'overall.' I don't recall having a CP temp on him.

That is absolutely not something exclusive to the Chiefs or any team.

It’s every team, every game, every week.

Aikman was just complaining about it on TNF actually.

That's a hard pass for me Dawg. He is the Special Teams equivalent of Romeo Crennel.

Toub is only 4 years younger than Andy.

Isn't this preoccupation with Andy's successor is a little weird? It's been going on almost since we hired him. He's not even in the top 5 oldest coaches in the league (he's 6th, but still).

For the most part our special teams has been solid the Toub hate on here is baffling. Again for the most part special teams has been consistent from really really good to average since Reid has been here yet if you were to poll this board the majority would support Kafka a largely unproven entity as the guy who should get the next HC gig

I don't hate Toub, I just think he doesn't have the stuff to be a head coach. If he had what it takes, someone would have taken a chance already. Romeo was the DC for some very good defenses in his career, just like Toub has been the STC for some really great special teams units.

But, when he does a press conference, and think about him as a head coach, I literally see a white version of Romeo.

Crennel and Weiss are great examples of the Peter Principle, and judging on his career and his demeanor, I believe that being a head coach would put him in that group as well.

Wow yeah true I guess. I guess it's just he's a likeable person. Oh well - you all can let this thread die - i just saw him in a presser, first time I'd seen him and was impressed. I knew it was a risky thread.

i.e., Frank Gansz

The history of the Chiefs tells me we are better when we hire coaches who have been successful as head coaches in the NFL. Coaches like Marty, Dick, and Andy aren't always available every offseason--but they should be our preference whenever Andy decides to retire. I hope his health is good enough that he stays with us for many more seasons.

He would probably be a better option than Bienemy. By a long shot.
