Drake Jackson up to 273lbs

I don’t know how this got lost in the Pro Day news over the last few weeks, but that’s a game changer.

Were his pro day numbers better or worse than the combine ones? What did he weigh at the combine?

According to his combine profile on nfl.com he was 250.

He only did the 3 cone at his Pro Day (7.09).

His versatility sure would add value. Spags likes disguising blitzes and Drake can line up as an OLB and come down to blitz the edge….or line up wide…or line up on the edge and be effective. I could see him developing into a player with similar production as Hasaan Reddick if he goes into the right situation.

He’s not the typical body type Spags likes for his DEs, but Jackson isn’t only a DE. He’s played a ton of linebacker.

Re-watched some of him and I was surprised at how poor his get-off is, but I don't get the impression Spags cares as much about that. Aside from that, plenty to like.

...Under the table side-note, sometimes I wish PED use was more transparent and their trainers just published their "cycles" so we could follow along lol

Either way it's mostly water and fat weight.

I saw that a couple days ago and thought to myself "wait - why don't I like this guy again?"

Then I realized that the last time I'd looked at him he was listed 25 lbs lighter.

Yeah, that's a big deal if that's good weight. Or if he was just down for some reason at his combine weigh in. That puts him firmly in that Miami 2nd rounder territory for me.

I still don't think he's high-ceiling enough to be a possibility w/ the 1st rounder, but if the draft board doesn't work out at DE for us at 29/30 and he's there at 50 still, I think that's a nice consolation.
