The impact on FF from the Bengals/Bills game

What are you guys doing in your leagues?

Honestly, the only solution I can come up with is giving the team that was winning the "W" while splitting the pot (assuming the game isn't played).

Unless of course the game was essentially over, and the remaining players wouldn't have made a difference.

I'm seeing a lot of nonsensical solutions like counting the Bengals/Bills players week 18 points for week 17, splitting the pot based on % chance the win (projected points), etc.

It's unfortunate, and there are no perfect solutions, but I think this is the most logical/fair way to handle it.

Quit playing FF seems like the most logical solution to me.

I forgot all about it. But my goal was just not to be last; accomplished that a few weeks ago, so my intensity level is pretty low.

Nah, I'm too good to ever quit, regardless of how maddening it can be.

Not sure yet. In the league I am commish in, I think I will wait until official word comes out if the game will not be made up. Then I will split the 1st and 2nd place prizes for those guys and the 3rd and 4th place prizes for those guys. Not sure what the guy who runs my other league is going to do but I am currently winning the 3rd place game and it's $400 prize (my opponent has the Bills defense and Josh Allen) so I'll be staying tuned.

This is exactly what I did in the COVID-shortened NBA bubble season in my fantasy NBA league, but this is a bit different.

In the context of this ending, I'd probably take a look and see how the football final was going and determine it from there. If the person behind had a legitimate chance, I think you have to split the money (while giving the leader the win). I lost my final before the Bills/Bengals game was even played, so I don't have to deal with this.

This becomes much more difficult when it's not the championship.

You should be the one to advance, and if you want to be nice, give that guy their money back if you win.

No I agree you definitely have to look at the situation too.

For example, I know of a league where the guy was winning by 1 going into the game playing against Burrow. Obviously the TD alone put his opponent in front by 5+, so he should get the W and the normal/standard split.

It's going to be a tough call for the commish. He was up by 2 in his round but his opponent had McPherson while he had Gabe Davis.

For me, the gal I was playing had far and away the #1 team this year. So far I think we're all waiting to follow the lead of other leagues but everyone has sort of had different ideas/solutions offered so far.
