RIP John Brockington
John Brockington is a former running back for Ohio State, the Green Bay Packers and the Kansas City Chiefs. He was the 9th pick of the NFL draft in 1971 nd was the first NFL player to rush for over 1,000 yards in each of his first three seasons. He played his last year, 1978, for the Chiefs.

I post this with great sadness because I knew him. He was a good friend of my wife and I when I was in law school. He was a good man. Rest in peace, my friend. I will see you on the other side.

I remember him somewhat from those early days of my youth following the NFL and MLB with all the trading cards.

We would know nearly every roster and it was not easy before the interwebs.
