Interesting Scenario - Answer vs Answer

I am high, and scrolling through Instagram, and I saw a Reel that asked an interesting question, and I thought it was perfect for CP.

You are isolated for one year, from civilization for one year, in a vacant apartment building. No internet, no new media, no information from the outside world whatsoever.

You have access to food, water, and all the things that would make a comfortable hotel room.

Here is the question: While you are cutoff from the outside world, you are allowed to choose one movie, one book, and one album to entertain yourself for the entire year of isolation. What are you watching, reading, and listening to for a year?

Here are my choices:

Movie - Field of Dreams (Back to the Future would be a close second) This is my favorite movie of all time. It's quirky, funny, endearing & heartwarming, a little bit sci-fi, and filled from top to bottom with great performances by a lot of really good actors. Plus, I didn't have a great relationship with my father, and the ending literally gets me every time.

Book - The Talisman by Stephen King and Peter Straub. This is one of my all time favorite books, but I have been reading it once a year since I was 13 years old in 1984, the year it was published. It has tremendous replay value for me because of the memories it evokes every time I read it. I remember how I felt when I first read it. I remember how the nostalgia of reading it 10 years ago made me feel. Plus, it's an absolutely fantastic book, especially if you are a Stephen King or Peter Straub fan. There have long been rumors that it is going to be made into a limited series. I highly recommend reading it.

Album - The Official Hamilton Soundtrack - Original Cast Recording. Ok, so this is probably going to get me flamed, but replay value is really the deciding factor for me. It's not my favorite album of all time, but it's definitely up there. But, what gives it such replay value is it tells a story, there are some absolutely amazing performances, and it has a wide variety of styles/genres within the set list. There are ballads, sad songs, funny songs, inspiring songs, love songs, with lots of hip hop type music, and even has fast paced, rap songs. And, although I am not a theater nerd, the writing is just ridiculously great from the first note to the last. (my second choice would have been the Eagles Greatest Hits - again not my favorite, but just has variety and replay value)

So, what would you choose? Do you have a strategy to your choices, or are you just picking your all-time favorite in each category by default. And please tell me what you think of my choices, or the person's who posted their choices above yours?

My wife has overplayed the Hamilton soundtrack to death so I think you’ll end up murdering yourself in a week tops.

1.) Need something very rewatchable and not depressing, as being alone for a year would take its mental toll. I'm gonna say Big Trouble in Little China.

2) House of Leaves. I literally am getting to read it finally starting this weekend (Found out about it like 3 months ago), and with all of the craziness in that book, I imagine re-reads will only help you learn more. (Haven't even read it yet, and yes, that is my answer because of how excited I am for this book)

3) I'm going to assume you mean by an actual recording artist, because if not, there are some video game soundtracks that are substantially longer and have some pretty high quality music. If I'm going with a recording artist, that's a tough one. I'd think I'd have to say Meddle by Pink Floyd, but I honestly gotta think on that one a bit.

Movie: Armageddon Pulp Fiction or UHF. I'd probably go UHF as it's amusing and has dozens of little things in the background to watch for and find.

Book would probably be the Bible. You could easily take a year going through it.

Album something easy I kind of like the idea of Eagles greatest hits

I haven't thought about UHF in forever. I'll never forget the commercial for Gandhi 2. Makes me laugh so hard every time.

I got to spend some time with Weird Al recently and brought up UHF and this scene in particular (my favorite in a great movie). It was terrible. There was no reaction to it at all. It was one of the most uncomfortable conversations I've had in a long time. After 15 minutes, my friend had to rescue me.

Definitely would not have expected it from the guy who created that cinematic masterpiece.
