Ever Check Your County's Latest Arrests/Mugshots?

It's usually no more than two or three times a year, but I'll somehow end up checking out the local arrests for my county, and it's usually just kind of a bummer experience. I always feel a little bit like a busy-body, and seeing what usually amounts to pretty trashy folks as constant repeat offenders isn't exactly an uplifting experience.

Well, last night, I got bored, and started farting around... I see a name that is vaguely familiar. Turns out I went to high school with the guy, but he was basically just another face in the hallways. Goddamn. This dude has quite a rap sheet, and some awful charges facing him. So that really piqued my interest. I went down the whole list... Folks, I don't know what's in the water around here, but I am surrounded by ****ing sex offenders! Holy ****balls, it was unbelievable. A lot of drug/alcohol offenses, but at least 20% were of the sick **** diddling kind. What the ****, man?!?

There’s a guy I work with that got arrested for soliciting a prostitute and has his mugshot online. From the description of the charges, it sounds like he was trying to get sex for a massage therapist. I haven’t and won’t tell anyone at work, but it appears as if he did it while wearing a shirt with the company logo on it.

A couple of years ago, early one Saturday morning my phone started blowing up from my brothers and a couple of cousins.

Their phones had been blowing up asking them what I’d done and why I was in jail.

The local jail had misclicked somehow during a booking of another person with my first name….and posted and listed in their app that I had been arrested the night before.

Local rumor took that and ran, and I was apparently arrested for beating a young man who had slapped my daughter.

I wasn’t arrested….i wasn’t in jail…I called and asked them to tske it down….and they did and the jailer who did it called to apologize

I didn’t address the rumor in town because sometimes there is value in people thinking you’d go to jail if someone were to mistreat your family.

Went out drinking with a friend who is crazy. He winded up going MIA and left his cellphone in the car. Found him in the local booking recap the next afternoon for drunk and disorderly conduct or public intoxication or some shit.

Yep. I had jury duty a couple years ago and googled the county court. Among the results was also the KS criminal website. Yikes! I put in my zip code and was amazed at the number of sex offenders among other felons. Most of the sex offenders were busted for trying to lure young girls and boys. What amazed me is that some of the offenders lived in expensive neighborhoods. I'm sure their families were proud.
