50 midgets or a lion?

This is a heated debate that is being had on another forum I frequent and I wanted to bring it to the Planet to see the types of responses and feedback

The question is more or less this:

If you put 50 midgets and a lion together in an empty room (think gymnasium size) what is the last thing alive? Is it atleast one midget or the lion?

So what is your answer, and why? Oh, and don't ask for more info, answer it with what you know from the question and nothing more.

For the record, I think anyone who thinks the correct answer is 50 midgets is an idiot

Things to clarify:

The midgets have no weapons at all or no armor

These are garden variety midgets
You put an ad in the paper for 50 midgets to show up (not knowing what they are getting into) and you take them
They are not spartan midgets or chuck norris midgets

The midgets win. After devouring 25 or 30 of the midgets, the lion is gonna be stuffed and will need to lie down for a nap.

probably not ALL the midgets.. but I would say they would be able to team up and handle the lion with a few casualties

freaking weird question though...

and thats assuming that its a freaking deathmatch and we aren't just talking about a freakshow carnival where the lion is already caged

The Midgets...one or two of them would probably be packin...& I dont mean in their pants!

For the record I agree the Lion would grow tired then full..then the remaining 25-30 would devise a plan...the midgets have brains or no?

What kind of midgets are we talking about here, the simple garden variety everyday midgets or something cool like evil samurai midgets with speech impediments, or lumberjack midgets complete with little axes or hatchets?
