Not a chance. He had 3 good seasons. He's Terrell Davis without the rings.

I'd like to disagree with this....but can't. If he makes it in, I'll be surprised.

He's got two great seasons, 2 good seasons and was on his way to another great season when injured. I'd say he doesn't have a shot, but its really a better resume then Gale Sayers.

Gale Sayers was just special. If he had played today he may still be a special back but he wouldn't be going to the HOF either. Just like if another Chief dies they're probably not going to retire their number.

I didn't really count the 1000 yard season for Baltimore. He barely cracked the number. Even pedestrian backs hit that these days with enough carries.

I'm tired of hearing this Gale Sayers shit every time a guy with a half a career shows up on the list. Look. They ****ed up once. That doesn't mean they should do it again.

And that goes for Terrell Davis as well. Want to get in the Hall, TD? Buy an admission ticket.

I don't know... Put TD, Holmes, or any other number of quality backs and their numbers in the late 60's and they'd make the hall too. It's symptomatic of an immature HOF. They spend the first few years populating it until they realize, "gosh" we should probably narrow the standards.

Frankly, I'd rather they stop putting old-timers in too. If you weren't legendary enough to go in by now, you probably don't deserve it... excepting Otis Taylor. Put him in and then slam the door.

Gale Sayers is in because, not only was he the most dynamic RB that had ever played when he retired, he was also an electrfying and game changing returner.

+1 Lynn Swann is NOT the standard for HOF WRs, and Gale Sayers isn't the standard for RBs.

End thread. Only the most homer of homers could ever say Priest deserves the HOF.

Same length career as the guy who got in today. Holmes has half as many starts though.

He'd be a pretty good shot for that one. But the real one? Sadly, probably not.

However, Priest is the model that I like. Even if his career was shorter than average, he was feared when he was playing. But there are other RBs like that, too. As mentioned, Terrell Davis is kind of similar, and my favorite dark horse was William Andrews of the Falcons. Man, that guy was good, but one knee injury and now no one remembers him at all.
