Let's just bring in every mediocre QB option, sign them to a 5 year contract and be tied to them for 3 years while other team's proactively persue the chance at potential franchise QBs.

Is he supposed to just sit back until they sign Peyton Manning? He does that and he might not even be in the league next year until some team calls needing a backup. The guy had a pretty fair year last year, one step from the Super Bowl, and expects to get paid for it. That's what the NFL is all about.
