Stuff You Could Live Without But Must Have Because Of The Quality

I've been going to do this thread for a few months, so here goes.

What are some things that you know of out there, that you may not need, but are in a class of their own. I'm talking top notch stuff, well above just very good, the best of the best and well worth it, because of the extreme quality. Things you would like, or would make great gifts for the right person. I'm not talking high dollar things like cars, lets say around $300, or less. Perhaps this will help with future gift ideas for people.

I'll post two examples:

1. I was trying to hunt down a leather bottle koozie, a cow (hair out) koozie to drink from, out in the man cave. (yeah twisted sense of humor) I looked all over and finally found one, right here in town, after googling the hell out of it. As far as I know, these folks are the only ones out there that make top notch leather koozies.

When I found them, I said the hell with the cow hair and invested in a bison bottle koozie. It's bison hide that's lined in Neoprene with a zipper and all handmade. I tested it all summer and I can safely say, this thing keeps my beer colder longer than anything I have ever tried, not even close. On top of that, the way it's made, it will last forever. I had one knocked out for my brother and my Dad as well. They have several different kinds of hides they can use, including things like shark.

http://www.etsy.com/shop/MontanaRedS...ion_id=8099603

2. If you, or someone in your family likes top notch candy, I'm talking the best you have ever tried, the Parrot Confectionery is a safe bet. These guys have been around along time, the early 50's to be exact and it looks about the same in there, old school. Whenever I'm in Helena, I have to stop for either a hot fudge, or caramel sunday. I also pick up two quarts of each for my parents and bring them back to town. All their stuff is handmade and or hand dipped. If you like candy, or have to pick out a gift for someone else who does, this is a safe bet.

Lets hear it, expain what it is and post a link.

I definitely have seen some cheapo Sennheisers but I think they make some decent high end models as well. What do you prefer? Ultrasone? AKG? Beyer?

Interesting... I have a pair of Sennheiser noise cancelling headphones. I believe they were about $250, and I love them. I don't have a lot to compare them to though... they're my first higher-end pair, after spending a lot of cheap/flimsy headphones. I tried a friend's Bose headphones a few weeks ago, and the noise cancelling was much better than mine, but I didn't notice a big difference in sound (we were sitting in an airport though, so not the best place to compare). What brands do you prefer?

I've got a pair of Denon AH-NC800 that work very well. Nothing like getting on the jet and listening to a movie, or music, rather than all the noise around you.

Koss
Grado
Denon
Audio-Techica
Audeze
Byerdynamic
Beats by Dre

Hell I even liked the Realistic Pro-60 that isn't made anymore better than any Sennhieser I've ever tried.

Denon makes quality stuff all across the broadcast field. Koss is under rated. You can get Beats at Best Buy and they're good.

Not saying Sennheiser doesn't make any good models, just saying everyone I've ever known uses other brands and the Sennheisers at my work place are used as backups.

Thanks, I'm sure I'll search for this thread one day when I need to replace them.
