Would You Be Upset If KC Didn't Draft A WR?

Well, the title says it all. Will you be upset if KC doesn't draft WR?

Yes, especially since it is arguably the deepest position in the draft.

I wouldn't be upset.. it would really make a statement that KC believes in the WRs they do have. I would prefer that they do select one in the first 4 rounds though. Can't say I have much faith in their current WR corps as a whole.

We have one of the worst wide receiver corps in all of football. That needs to be remedied.

The odds of that happening are slim to none.

There are a ton of great WRs in this draft to be had in every single round.

the thread question should have finished with "in the first round" ?? With Cooks or Beckham Jr. sitting at 23 I would be furious

It is very deep with a lot of speed guys. Which is exactly why you don't need to get one in the 1st. But seriously, WR, OL, and TE should be addressed, just not necessarily so early.

In theory I agree with you but there are 'speed guys' and then there are 'football speed guys' which are few and far between IMO in this draft or any draft for that matter. Beckham and Cooks are a cut waaaay above the rest of these speed WRs ('only') and I prefer Cooks over Beckham IF both are available at 23. Just watch Cooks's gauntlet drill at the combine and you will see why I prefer him over Beckham. Just watch the difference between the 2 running the gauntlet drill. Both have great hands but Beckham slows down in the gauntlet whereas Cooks never downshifts in his speed.

As mentioned in another thread, what Beckham has that Cooks doesn't is 2" of length on his arms and 2.5" on his vertical. It makes Beckham effectively a 6'5" receiver with 10" hands to go along with a pogo stick like ability in the open field.

Beckham is strong and Cooks is not. If you see the game tape, watch how many balls get swatted out of Cooks hands immediately after he catches the pass. You won't see this on the highlight reels. I'm not sure he will be able to play outside in the NFL. Corners get their hands on the ball 50% of the time. I like Cook but Beckham is way ahead of him imo.

As far as the main topic goes, WR makes sense because there is so many good ones but, I want the BPA. I think Dorsey will go BPA and in no way will lock onto a WR. Someone like Mosley could drop. It always happens.

When you compare highlights here Cooks and Beckham are actually 2 different types of WRs IMO. Beckham is more of a No.2 type of WR in the NFL that doesn't NOT have slot potential because he is not near as quick nor has the elite speed Cooks possesses. Both have great hands NO DOUBT and run great routes. The difference here is that Beckham needs the blocking ahead of him more often than not to be a playmaker whether on returns or yards after the catch. Whereas Cooks is his own playmaker whether he has the blocking or not. He literally can create his own seams because he has not only elite speed but he is that quick and can start and stop on a dime without downshifting in speed. And another thing that impresses me both about Cooks and Beckham are that they catch the ball over the middle IN TRAFFIC with great focus. Compare all the youtube clips here and you will see Cooks is more of a playmaker that could easily be a No. 2 WR and a PERFECT No.1 SLOT and potentially the offensive rookie of the year for the Chiefs this next year in a Andy Reid offense.

Beckham will make some plays in the NFL BUT Cooks will be a playmaker every game in the NFL is the difference between them.
