This makes his remaining cap structure to be a 5 year, 40 million dollar contract with 19 million dollars (9 over 1st 3 years) with an average of $8 million per.

I am not crazy about Hardy in the first and the lack of pass rushing depth, but you fixed virtually everything else very well.

I don't think the coaching staff is going to demote Fulton right out of the gate, either. We're likely looking at at LEAST one more year of him at RG.

I really, really like the free agent acquisitions (with the exception of giving that much money to Joe Barksdale when we could and should draft a guy who would be better and cheaper; I mean, that's a hell of a raise to a guy who got absolutely destroyed by Justin Houston this past season.), though I'm not overly excited about resigning Parker or restructuring Bowe.

I think the best thing for Bowe and the Chiefs is a trade to someone like the Browns, Vikings or Bears. You aren't going to get a lot because of the contract and his age, but I think it's in his and the teams best interests.

I'm not sure there would be much trade interest in Bowe, esp bc of his contract. I agree with you regarding Barksdale, would rather see that money used to restructure Hali and find a RT in the first or second round. Not the most exciting WR upgrades in this example but certainly better than this seasons squad.

Barksdale, in my opinion, has been one of the better right tackles in the NFL less that performance against Houston. I think it'll take that to get him to sign elsewhere, if he even tests the market. Obviously I could use the draft to secure the position and that might be an option. I do like Cam Erving and a few others.

I'm not sure on trading Bowe, his salary portion of his contract is just as prohibitive as anything. Bowe might would have to be willing to renegotiate with another team too with 10.75, 9.75, and 9.75 million in salary over the next 3 years. I'd try to shop him if I was intent on getting rid of him though. He isn't worthless to the team, but he's not worth the money he's getting. I don't think he'll restructure to a range he is truly worth it.


Thanks on responses. Would love to hear suggestions on the right tackle situation. I'm looking at John Miller as a guy to draft at left guard if Carpenter doesn't hit FA. I'd also look at Iupati in FA, but I don't think he's as good as Carpenter.
