That's my thought process. There are a ton of people who will be upset if we don't, how many will be upset if we do? I'm curious. And I'm getting ready for a day trip so I won't be able to see the results until this evening.

I went with no... which comes as no surprise to many. All along I have said I would go after Alex Smith AND Geno Smith. From way back before we even picked up Alex in the trade. I suspect if we do draft Geno, the biggest uproar is going to come from the group that thinks we gave up too much for Alex.

Me? I could care less about the compensation given for Alex. If we come out of this draft with a franchise QB, anything else out of this draft is just icing on the cake.

I've seen maybe two articles with anything tangible in them regarding his flaws (footwork issues?)

and 500 articles about how he can't be drafted 1st overall because it would hurt Mike Mayock/Andrew Luck/Alex Smith/insert douchebag here 's feelings.

I got ya. But it's an neverending supply. If they don't think Genos worth the pick, and I personally do not, then next years model would be serviceable and on and on until the goldenboy avails himself thru pluck and luck whether thru draft or FA, just find the goldenboy that makes your system shine. Aside from Peyton Manning, I believe most of the successful QB's are well coached to maximize their intangibles and strengths. Some suck from the starting gate. Not their fault. They don't draft themselves to a team.
