Car-nal Desires: Round 3, Heat 3

Welcome to Round 3! We'll have seven heats in this round. The top two from each heat will move forward, and the top two third-place cars will advance to reduce us a field of 16. (The top third place cars will be identified as those that were closest in percent to the second place car.)

We are in Round 2, where we winnow the contestants from 42 vehicles to 28 vehicles.

PICK TWO FROM EACH LIST ON THE POLL.

1969 RS/Z28 DZ302 with factory X33 cross ram and headers https://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/show...&postcount=109

2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon https://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/show...&postcount=118

1970 Chevelle SS (the red one in the link) https://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/show...6&postcount=64

64' Vette Restomod https://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/show...9&postcount=43

Recall the rules below. (Rule #5 was modified slightly from the nomination thread.)

1. This vehicle will be yours at no purchase cost.
2. You will keep your current vehicles, so no need to worry about fitting a baby seat in it or being able to haul mulch.
3. You're responsible for parking it.
4. You pay for gas or electricity.
5. Insurance and maintenance up to $3,000 per month is free to you. You cover the next $1,000 if the expenses are higher, and then after that the expenses are covered. So for a high-end vehicle you'll cover a max of $1,000 per month.
6. The vehicle must be street-legal.
7. The vehicle must actually exist. It cannot be a cartoon or concept drawing. However, it can be a production vehicle, a concept vehicle, a custom vehicle, or anything else that is real.
8. The vehicle being nominated is the exact vehicle shown. You cannot change the color, the interior, the engine size, etc.
9. You cannot use the vehicle to make money. It's only for your personal use.
10. You cannot sell the vehicle.
11. Any type of street-legal vehicle is allowed. You can nominate a car, a truck, a minivan, an RV, a semi-truck, a motorcyle, a classic car, a school bus, whatever. As long as it meets the rules above, it's eligible.

I know I’m not car guy and I’m sure this is grounds for dismissal in some places but all these 70s muscle cars are just a dime a dozen to me. All look the same and don’t scream dream car to me. If you can’t get the Pontiac you can just get the Ford or Chevy and have the same car.

I've got to go with that Z28 with my first vote. That's a hot car, and I don't mean stolen.

Second will be the modified Vette.

I'm okay on the Chevelle, but it's out of its league here. And the new Challenger is overpowered to be my Sunday driver.

Z28 and that restomod Vette. I love the Chevelle, but that Vette is just nasty.

I'm a Ford guy however the 69 Camaro was a really nice car.

The sad things is that those old cars are pretty much undriveable now. Those solid lifter cams required constant adjustment. They look nice in the car shows and the rich guys and sell them back and forth to each other.

I feel exactly the same. But given the site demographics be ready for a final four of just that. Likely with Chevy/Dodge/Pontiac/ford mafias duking it out with reasons why one is better than the other, model years, options, etc.

NTTAWWT. I'd just prefer a more balanced and diverse bracket, the home bracket felt more interesting. Nothing against this one. God Bless Rainman for taking the hours to put it on for our entertainment.

+1 for Rain Man.

I liked when we were voting on hot women better though.
