The Early Years Tournament: Round 2, Heat 9.
Yes, the last heat also featured games against the Chargers and the 49ers. Random seedings for the win. I guess we always look good against California teams. Pick your favorite.
2022 - Week 7 - W 44-23 over SFO https://www.pro-football-reference.c...2210230sfo.htm Chiefs 4-2 / 49ers 3-3 The Chiefs were an offensive juggernaut on this day. Case in point: Mecole Hardman scored three touchdowns, and he was tied for fourth in yards from scrimmage with 60, behind Juju (124), MVS (111), and Kelce (98). Pacheco also had 60. Patrick had a great day with 423 yards passing. Our six touchdowns averaged 17 yards in length. The defense gave up points, but also registered 5 sacks (2 by Chris Jones that included a strip, and a safety by Frank Clark), and 2 interceptions. Joshua Williams made a great red zone interception to stop a very short drive after a fumbled punt return. Per tradition, we spotted the 49ers a 10 point lead before blowing the doors off of them with 30 second-half points. Unfortunately, the highlights don't show the signature play of this game, where the Chiefs flipped their feet in unison on a field goal attempt to cause a false start. 2022 - Week 11 - W 30-27 over LAC https://www.pro-football-reference.c...2211200sdg.htm Chiefs 7-2 / Chargers 5-4 These other teams will never learn. The Chargers took the lead with 1:46 left, but ... Mahomes. You also see a great shot of the Chargers QB (Herbert) realizing that he's never going to beat Mahomes right before Kelce scores the game-winning TD with 31 seconds remaining. One of the best Mahomes passes you'll ever see (and that's saying a lot) is the pass to Fortson at 3:10 of the highlights. He put that pass through a keyhole. And check out Chris Jones' hustle at 3:45 - very impressive. Kelce had a great 4th-quarter TD at 9:10 of the highlights, sliding out of wannabe tacklers' grips, and he also scored the game winner. He was the leading yardage guy at 115 with 3 TDs, followed by Pacheco at 107. On defense, we had lots of stars. Bolton had 14 tackles and the game-ending interception, while Gay had 11 tackles and a 1 sack. Jones and Danna had 2 sacks each as we beat up the other team's QB, while Mahomes cruised to 329 yards and 3 TD passes. This game was pretty, very pretty. |

Two great games, but I have to go San Francisco here. I enjoy a great full-team win.

Ugh, I can’t decide. SF was a great ass whooping. Basically that entire second half I was chillin ‘cause we just kept scoring on every drive and pulling away.
The Chargers game was closer, so more frustrating, but I do enjoy ripping the Chargers’ collective hearts out. I’ll abstain from voting this round and let the people decide. |
