Jammal Brown / Willie Roaf

The year before Willie Roaf came to the Chiefs from the Saints, he was injured. Jammal Brown, The starting left tackle for the last three years for the Saints is currently on Injured Reserve. He was drafted in the first round by the Saints out of Oklahoma. The Saints, without Jammal, are currently beating the crap out of all their opponents. Could the Chiefs pull off another "Willie Roaf" type trade and make a move for Jammal Brown?

I think that if a teammate is screwing Jamaals wife, it could happen.

That line is doing a pretty good job, but there isn't anyone right now that makes quicker reads and gets the ball out as quickly as Drew Brees.

I'm not expert, but I'd guess that Jammal Brown doesn't have anything close to the upside that Willie Roaf did coming off that injury. You'd get all of the risk (never play again at a reasonable NFL level) without the possible reward (Hall of Fame caliber play). That said, if the price were right, it could be one of the many approaches the Chiefs should take to shore up their offensive line before the 2010 season.

Jamaal Brown is awesome. I'd be worried about the rumor that he was being shopped last offseason because he has some kind of long-condition that could lead to an early retirement. I can't remember what it was.

We may not have to trade for him, this article from August says he will be a free agent after the season.

Something with his knees:

He has yet to play 16 games in a year, this injury could push that streak to five seasons. That's certainly not a positive for a player who before he was even drafted in 2005 was dealing with a condition in his knees that had a lot of teams and medical experts predicting a short career.

Could?

Brown is already on injured reserve, about three weeks ago.

Jermon Bushrod, a 4th round pick in '07 has been playing at LT, and looks pretty damn good there.

You got to give credit to Saints' draft: Colston, 7th round, Bushrod, 4th round, Moore, undrafted free agent, all giving high yield dividends.
