If the Chiefs drafted Niles Paul it would make me feel about the same as if they drafted Carl Gettis.

Seen plenty of Husker games being in lincoln. Trust me when I say the Chiefs and no other team wants a piece of Niles Paul. Decent with the ball in his hands but not special. Biggest problem? He has small hands and drops a lot of balls. I mean a lot of balls. Dwayne Bowe would be amazed in how many balls this guy drops. He simply can't catch.
I don't see this happening but the real Husker that would interest me for the Chiefs because I'm not big on Thomas Jones (I think he's done) would be Roy Helu. Good back. 219 lbs (although more of a shifty guy than a power guy), runs a 4.42. Has good vision. Like his game. |

Roy Helu would be a horrible pick because he's not that fast and doesn't have a good frame thats why he fumbles on occasion. Gomes or Haag should be drafted to replace Washington.

Yes he's a fumbler. Can't argue that. But how do you say he's not that fast? Seriously? Hes had multiple 60+ yard TD runs in his career and he run a 4.42 at the combine. Unless you only consider guys like Jamaal & Chris Johnson fast then I suppose you're right. He's not that fast. Last edited by suds79; 03-11-2011 at 11:44 AM.. |

Yeah, that's why Helu had one of the fastest times at the combine. Because he's slow.

Yea because the combine means everything and theres no difference between football speed and lining up in shorts and running 40 yards either right? Zac Lee ran a 4.6 at pro day and Will Henry who never played ran a 4.4 I suppose both should get drafted because they some of the fastest at their positions.

And please don't tell me you think Rex Burkhead is better than Helu do you? If so this conversation is over. The kid is tough I'll give him that but he's smaller than Helu in lbs and he's slower. People around here have a hard on for the guy simply because he's the current great white hope at RB. Solid college RB (although a truly bigtime program should have a better starting RB) but won't cut it in the league. Helu will do much more than that kid ever will. Simply more talented. |

Rex was running a 4.46 coming out of high school and missed half of his freshmen year with foot injury. When Martinez went out Burkhead in the wildcat was literally all we had. His numbers were great for a part time starter. Helu won't do much in the league because he's slow around the corner and isn't big enough to go up the middle. |

http://www.fanaticalfootballfiend.co.../roy-helu.html Draft InSider on Roy Helu: "Roy Helu is a strong north/south runner that patiently waits for blocks to develop then hits the hole hard. A little straight-linish, he lacks the speed and agility to turn the corner." SideLine Scouting on Roy Helu: "Positives: Ideal size at 220 pounds... Surprising quickness in the open field, can shake a tackle... Consistently sheds tackles, does a great job running through arm tackles especially in the red zone... Good vision and patience in the hole... Has been a quick riser as a senior this year, had a 300 yard outing against Missouri, one of the best defenses in the Big 12... High character, respected by teammates... Looks to be more of a two-down runner who can play for first and second down then bring in more versatile threat in for passing downs... Has a propensity for breaking long runs. Negatives: Has just average speed for the position, can get chased down from behind... Struggles with ball security, carries the ball away from his body... Does not run over people, sheds tacklers, but lacks a powerful punch... Lacks a great leg drive, doesn't push the pile like he should with his size... Very limited in the passing game, has never been utilized much as a receiver and is undisciplined when asked to stay in pass protection... Every year he seems to have some sort of small injury... Tons of durability concerns. Last edited by Titty Meat; 03-13-2011 at 02:16 AM.. |
