Incredible talent. One of the guys that was unappreciated in the NFL so he went to the AFL and became a star. He held a lot of the receiving records when he retired that have all been surpassed, but just one hell of a player. RIP Don.

My buddy Phil Villipiano knocked Maynard to the ground back in the day with a tomhawk.

Texas Western University (UTEP) product. There haven’t been a hell of a lot of them. Way to represent, Don.

I remember him well, caught everything thrown his way. He and Bambi were two receivers I feared against the Chiefs. Also they did it clean without stickum, Looking at you Fred Biletnikoff.
RIP Mr. Maynard

RIP. Receivers of that era I truly respect. They had it truly tough compared to the guys of today.

Maynard graduated from Colorado City High in Texas. That's a half hour down the road from Sweetwater, where Baugh attended high school. Sweetwater is home of one of America's greatest showcases, the Sweetwater Rattlesnake Roundup. |

He was a great player, he lived long enough past his 80's, that is pretty good in my book! Rest in peace!
